Bluegrass World
req. lyrics: Blue Ridge Mountain Blues 51

John Misrahi From memory, so dont' shoot me (and, for that matter, I may have the orders of which chorus goes where wrong, I've got it on vinyl, and my turntable's buried, but it works)--

When I was young and in my time, I left my home in Caroline now all I do is sit and pine for all those folks I left behind

I've got those blue Ridge moutain blues, and I stand right here and say my grip is packed to travel and I'm scratching gravel for those blue hills right away

I see a window with a light, I see two heads of snowy white I seem to hear them both recite, where is my wand'ring boy tonight

I've got those blue ridge mountain blues, and I'll stand right here and say Every day I'm counting 'til I reach that mountain on the blue ridge far away

One other thing on the harmony
I'm sure other bands have done this, but if your ear is sufficiently trained to distinguish one...

just hang around my cabin door, no work or worry anymore

I've got those blue ridge mountain blues gonna see my old dog Trey Gonna hunt the possum where the corn tops blossom on that Blue Ridge far away.

Hope that helps,

-- Lane Gray get the .lead out before replying (sorry for munging, I can only take so many copies of automat) Yes, I'm a minion of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial
