"Team Flathead - the Huber Banjos Sessions" will be officially released at the IBMA World Of Bluegrbutt this coming week. For those in attendance, we will have copies available at a special IBMA price at the Huber Banjos booth (#51-52).

We recorded this all instrumental banjo project back in April of this year, with Sammy Shelor, Jim Mills, Ron Stewart, Steve Huber and yours truly on banjo. Our crack rhythm section consisted of Kenny Smith on guitar, Alan Bibey on mandolin, Ron Stewart on fiddle and Andy Todd on bbutt.

All 13 tracks were recorded using new Huber Banjos. This started out as a demonstration project of sorts, to let people hear how these banjos sound under ideal studio conditions. As plans progressed we decided to take it a bit more seriously and let the project serve as both a Huber "audio catalog" and also be presented as a serious commercial CD release.

Though I am clearly biased, I think that it came out quite well. We chose songs that were both fairly traditional and largely familiar, as we wanted the banjos to shine as much as the material.

The CD was manufactured as an enhanced CD, meaning that there are additional multimedia features available when you insert the CD into a computer. We have some more audio and video features, plus an interactive catalog.

It is being offered at a special price of only $13, shipping included (within North America).
