Bluegrass World
One other thing on the harmony

I'm sure other bands have done this, but if your ear is sufficiently trained to distinguish one voice from another in the trio (i.e., you can tell, when listening to the Scene, that *this* voice is Duffey, *this voice is Starling, and *this* voice is Mike), give the following two cuts a listen; "Like We Used To Be"- "Let Me Be Your Friend." It starts in A, and Duffey sings the lead on the verses, then jumps up to sing tenor on the chorus (he does this a LOT, and always has, dating back to his days with the Gentlemen)-with Mike singing baritone, and Starling on the lead, and then it modulates to C, and Duffey sings lead on the verse AND on the chorus, with Starling on baritone, and Auldridge on low tenor. Nobody's part moved more than about a major second (possibly a minor third) but the key is up a minor third

Welcome to JigTime News, our regular look at all the news thatās fit to dance to. This is our second mail and we hope you...

They do the same thing on "a Picture from Life's Other Side" which is found on both the "New Seldom Scene Album" and on "Scene 20", although I think it's possible the key moves in a lower direction, rather than up. I'd have to give it a listen, and my headphones are currently dead.

-- Lane Gray get the .lead out before replying (sorry for munging, I can only take so many copies of automat) Yes, I'm a minion of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial
