Mitch privatesson When he decides to play 'grbutt, he flat out plays some serious take-no-prisoners grbutt, though Patty Loveless knows 'grbutt, and can do it when she wants to. On the flip side of the coin, look at Rhonda's stuff pre-Rage. She's born and raised on both sides of the country-grbutt divide, and has done some DAMN fine country with twin fiddles and steel guitar. Does that make her less legit? isn't Ahh, another Starling fan. I'd much rather recommend "Act III" or "Act II" than that album with T. Michael watering out subtleties with his E-bbutt. Oh, I heard from Tom that there's a new project in the works featuring John Starling, Ben Eldridge, Tom and a couple others who I've forgotten, but I think it features Mike on Dobro (and probably steel, Starling likes the sound of the steel, and Mike plays it well) and Ron Block on mando. I could be wayyy wrong on Ron, though. the digging, It's just like country. There's lots of good bluegrbutt out there, but the major labels prefer to sell their own ersatz stuff. Bluegrbutt.
