Mitch privatesson When he decides to play 'grbutt, he flat out plays some serious take-no-prisoners grbutt, though Patty Loveless knows 'grbutt, and can do it when she wants to. On...

Ahh, but it does matter Daniel! Just flip on any country radio station. You will hear everything except country music! The crap now played there is a mix of rock and pop and everything else. Sort of a UNI-Music that has absolutely nothing to do with country music! What you will not hear is a song like "Lonesome Dove" from Carl Jackson's Spring Training Album. Why? Because it is just too good! The corporations can not afford a song like that to be played and then a Garth song to follow it. Instantly everyone would know just how shabby the modern country is! George and Loretta are "old hat" and cannot be played. The "Mixing" is the destroyer! Just as you get a mongrel if you let a pure bred dog breed to anything that comes by, so country was destroyed, and so will bluegrbutt be destroyed with this Uni-grbutt crap.

I have no problem with "acoustic Jazz". Listen as much as you like. I will even play it with you if you want. But take it somewhere else and call it what it is. Don't tell me it is "bluegrbutt" or untruthfully hawk it as bluegrbutt. If it will stand on its own, have acoustic jazz festivals. But don't use the draw of bluegrbutt festivals to promote it. I suggest that if you had such a festival, most of the crowd would not attend as they mostly come to hear traditional grbutt. Bluegrbutt is a very unique style of music. It is not a "one size fits all" venue. We either keep it seperate, or it will disappear! Country went "a whoring", look at the result. I do not want the same fate to befall bluegrbutt music.
