Kevin - well said. I live in South Africa and it is as multicultural and diverse as it gets. Our country's "other" name is The Rainbow Nation. I think we have something like 11 official languages? PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT a racist, but South Africa just went downhill after apartheid. Same thing that happened to you Kevin, happens on a daily basis in South Africa. To give you an example. We moved into a very upmarket complex in Johannesburg. When we moved in, the streets were quiet and clean. THREE MONTHS LATER, the place was invaded. Just like that. The crime in South Africa is HORRIFIC. Contract killings on 6 month old babies (getting stabbed in the neck and bleeding to rest), raping of new-born babies, pregnant women within days of delivering a healthy baby getting shot twice in the stomach at point-blank range shattering the baby's spleen and spine killing it instantly... I can go on and on. In the apartheid years, crime was low, we had a healthcare system that WORKED, we had one of the BEST educational systems in the world and we did not set free THOUSANDS of violent criminals because our jails were grossly overcrowded. Everyone in society KNEW their place. Another point is I think that "multiculturalism" is a myth. The people in the "new" South Africa are adopting Western Culture and several different cultures are merging into one big cultural pot. A New Culture of sorts. Which is very sad in my opinion - losing one's cultural idenbreasty.

All this happened because of the bleeding heart liberals. Because everyone believes democracy is the way to go. Everybody is equal. Everybody is NOT equal. I am NOT equal to Bush or Paris Hilton or Mugabe or a neurosurgeon. Democracy is beautiful in theory but it is NOT a practical concept. It brought along the whole "human rights" thing, and look where it got us. The world is going to the dogs. Multiculturalism my a**. You want to talk democracy? You want to talk FREEDOM? Then GIVE me the CHOICE not to allow certain "elements" into my neighbourhood. Because god knows, I ain't embracing ****.
