"Oklahoma Hills" ain't exactly a protest song. I don't know that I've heard "Round and Round Hitler's Grave" as a bluegrbutt song And Grandpa Jones played no part in it, or did he learn it from Pete?

Ahh, those of us who went to the bluegrbutt festivals down in coal country (Wise, House and Barn Mountain) have seen what the union movement really thinks of bluegrbutt - They shot at the buses and cars of the bands and audience members coming in to play when John L. Lewis's pride and joy threw a wildcat strike a few miles away. The various union apologists never even offered apologies, they just said "Hell, everybody knows that those roads are used by replacement workers, anyone who's driving up there gets what they deserve."
I'd sooner sing a Tom T. Hall song (groupsgoogle "Tom T. Hall" and "Seldom Scene" to see what Mr. Hall actually thinks of bluegrbutt and the people who play it) than a union song.
From the point of view of a long-haul trucker, the union movement has grown to symbolize the protection of goldbricks and layabouts, and seeing just how many impediments they can put in the way of people who just want to get in their 3300 miles a week and go home Driver pulls into a freemarket warehouse, he's usually unloaded or loaded in no more than an hour or two and off on his-her way. Pull into a union warehouse, and you wait several hours just to get a door, and it takes several hours to get unloaded or loaded, and they'll happily leave you waiting for the full hour of lunch break before pulling the last pallet off the trailer (freemarket workers will usually just say "here, let me get this last pallet off before lunch, and you're free to go").
And the Teamsters wonder why they're having so much trouble "organizing" the truckload industry. The Schneider-J.B. Hunt drivers see what the union movement means and what it provides, and it sits at enmity of the aim of the driver, which is more like "let me get back on the road, and spend as little of my time as legal-possible sitting around, I want my miles and I want to get back home."
