I just caught the tail end of an interview with Sting about his song, "You Will Be My Ain True Love," sung by Alison Kraus on the Cold Mountain soundtrack CD. Either the song and-or the CD have been nominated for an award.
The interview ended about 1:27 PM EST, today, Thu, Jan. 15. Since CNNH is on a half-hour schedule and tends to repeat this type of story for most of a day, I buttume-hope it will be on again about 1:50 PM and repeat at about 20+ and 50+ minutes after the hour until I catch the whole interview.
I enjoyed the Cold Mountain soundtrack overall, especially a couple of tracks.
**However**, as others have mentioned in considerable discussions not to be repeated here, the real Cold Mountain soundtrack, inspired by the book and produced in 1998, is
Dirk Powell, Tim O'Brien and John Hermann's "Songs From the Mountain" Sugar Hill 3952, copyright Howdy Skies, 1998.
I receieved my copy yesterday from Elderly Instruments. It's a whole stunning album, not just a few good or interesting tracks like the official soundrack CD.
I hope it finally gets its fair due.
Thanks to those who pointed out that it even existed!
1:50PM Gotta push the SEND button to get this out.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
