The new album from the Donegal songstress takes a look at the past with her musical feet firmly planted in the modern world. This is her fifth solo album and is a diversion

for her musically in the albumās style and itās intent.

MagnoliaFest

Well the tent is all packed again and ready to go to Florida for Magnoliafest. A line up that includes Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and Jim Lauderdale is worth the trip alone but when you set the event in Florida on the famed Suwannee river then some sort of magic is bound to happen.

The IBMA Awards

The Awards have been handed out and once again I have been pbutted over. Despite my own campaign to have a special award for untidiest car or worst Southern accent they gave away all the good awards to some so called musicians For a full list of who won check out.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures We have lots of new pictures on the site for you from Blues legends BB King and Jeff Beck to Altan and our huge Merlefest section. There will be more coming soon too with picture albums from shows by Ricky Skaggs and the Chieftains and pictures from Harvestfest 2003.

Once again I must apologize for the delay in the Harvestfest pictures but these will be online and ready for your viewing pleasure as soon as I can get to them.

Guide to Irish Music Check out an old article of mine about the history of Irish Traditional music in modern times. It will be following it up with a list of recommended albums for those of you new to Celtic or Irish sounds. Then in the coming weeks I will be doing similar things withAmericana and Bluegrbutt music. Remember those of you who are experts and well versed in Traditional Irish Music that this is a very short and potted history of Irish music and merely serves as a guide to how it has found itās way into our lives for people new to the genre. Enjoy.
