We'd like to update you on our American Banjo Camp faculty. Janet Davis and Danny Barnes will now be joining our bluegrbutt staff. Janet is a noted authority on 3-finger backup and other aspects of bluegrbutt-banjo instruction, while Danny -- a founding member of the well-known Bad Livers band out of Nashville -- is an astounding player who has found a way to make 3-finger work beautifully in a solo (that is, unaccompanied) context. Our other bluegrbutt instructors, returning from last year, are Bill Evans and Bill Keith.
Our old-time staff has not changed since our last notice. It consists of Mac Benford, Brad Leftwich, Ken Perlman and Mike Seeger. Our "accompanists" are Greg Canote on fiddle, Jere Canote on guitar, Peter Langston on guitar and mandolin, and David Cahn on bbutt.
We are planning a beginner novice program for our '04 camp. All of our teachers will participate to some degree, but our primary instructors in this area are Laura Smith (old-time) and David Cahn (bluegrbutt).
We will add teachers and accompanists as growth in sign-ups warrant.
For those of you who missed our earlier announcements, American Banjo Camp presents an intense weekend of old time and bluegrbutt music in the Pacific Northwest, focusing on the five-string banjo and featuring world-clbutt instructors. There will be hands-on clbuttes, panels, demonstrations, and concerts, not to mention plenty of time for jamming! We're located at Fort Flagler State Park, a picturesque spot right on Puget Sound near Port Townsend, Washington.

Cheers Ken Perlman and Peter Langston Directors
