Jam sessions
every second and forth Thursday each month at
International Bluegrass Music Museum
101 Daviess Street, Owensboro, Kentucky
We are a newly organized, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote bluegrass and related acoustic music on a year-round basis in Owensboro and the surrounding regions, by presenting regularly scheduled concerts and supporting educational programs that reinforce the historical and cultural significance of this art form.
The reason we chose the word "Fellowship" for the name of our group - rather than "Society" or "Association," is because we wanted a word that sounded friendly. One of the things people say they like best about bluegrass events is the family atmosphere and the feeling of community. One of the main goals of the Bluegrass music Fellowship is to sponsor concerts where families are welcome, and where you will get a chance to know other people in the community by taking part in events like jam sessions open mike nights, workships and showcases, and programs available to the local schools as well as other local organizations. We hope that, when you come to a Bluegrass music Fellowship event, you will hear some great music - and that you will also meet some great people.
