Let It Be
The day dawns with its joys and woes,
What it will bring only God knows,
But, good or bad, sweet or bitter,
Don't spoil it yourself, getting all in a dither.
Day by Day
Happiness and heartache,
Laughter and tears,
Giving and taking,
Year after year.
Talking and silence,
Working and play,
Helping each other,
Sharing each day.
Growing in patience,
Every moment that goes,
Storing up memories,
Only you and he knows,
Have hope for tomorrow,
Keep faith all the way,
And love one another,
Until the end of your days.
Springtime in the Ozarks
There's a warm sun a shinging so cheerful and bright,
A south breeze is blowing not a cloud is in sight,
The dogwoodis so white and the fields are so green,
It is the loveliest day that you ever have seen.
The leaves are unfolding on the big maple tree,
Johnnie Jump-Ups are a blooming as blue as can be,
The old men are a moseying with their can fishing poles,
There is nothing so restful to a work weary soul.
The youngsters go a walking in the gay country side,
I can hear their blythe voices as they saunter by,
The Lord in his loving and wondrous way,
Has sent us the springtime this wonderous day.
I listen raptly to a mocking bird sing,
And I hear the frogs a calling from the stream by the spring,
The Fire-On-The-Mountain is a flaming red hue,
The Forsythia bush a blossoming too.
My love is a coming through the far meadow gate,
When I see him I whisper, I'm glad you're not late,
I hurry to meet him with a song in my heart,
There is nothing 'neath heaven can keep us apart.
He sits down beside me and holds my hand tight,
As the sun fades so slowly and day turns to night,
There's a whippoorwill a calling from his perch in the trees,
As my darling so tenderly whispers his love to me. |
